Further to the victory of Lula de Silva in the recent elections, the rebranding of the programme has been reversed and the name has reverted to Minha Casa, Minha Vida (My House, My Life).

In an effort to put his own mark on what was the Minha Casa Minha Vida (My House My Life), the Brazilian government, in conjunction with President Jair Bolsonaro, has made several changes to the functionality and the administration of the programme. The three most important changes are as follows:
The name was changed from Minha Casa Minha Vida to Casa Verde e Amarela (Green and Yellow House).
Gifted deposit subsidies were increased and are now weighted more towards the poorest in society, opening up the programme to even more people.
Private banks will now be allowed to participate in the programme where is was previously managed only by the state owned banks – Caixa Economica Federal and Bank of Brazil.
The first two changes have already been implemented and the third change is due to come online during 2022. These changes will allow us to help even more people out of poverty and into affordable and safe housing.
