When was Oak IF Group formed?

Oak IF Group was formed in 2014, but several of its component parts have been in existence much longer and our team have been involved in the My House My Life programme since its conception in 2009.

What is My House My Life (Minha Casa Minha Vida - MCMV)?

Minha Casa, Minha Vida programme was launched in 2009 and is a government-backed providing social housing. The government provides heavily subsidised finance and gifted deposits to those on low wages, enabling them to get on the housing ladder at the entry level. This has created massive demand for low cost housing.

How many houses are due to be built in the Minha Casa Minha Vida programme?

The initial target for the government was to build 1 million properties. However, with this target having been reached within 18 months of the programme's conception, the target has been repeatedly increased. The most recently stated target is 24 million properties. Currently the programme has delivered approximately 8 million of those houses.

Who manages the Minha Casa Minha Vida programme?

The management of the Minha Casa Minha Vida programme was given to the Caixa Economica Federal Bank, which is the second largest government-owned financial institution in Latin America. However, due to high levels of demand, the management is now shared with Banco do Brasil, which tops Caixa as the largest government owned financial institution. Under recent changes, plans have been put in place to allow several other banks, such as ITAU, Bradesco, Banco Santander to participate in the programme, allowing for swifter processing of mortgage applications.

How many houses have been built by the Oak IF Group?

Since 2014, Oak IF Group has built over 500 properties as part of the Minha Casa Minha Vida programme through its own projects and over 750 properties as the contracted builder for other promoters.

UK investors sign legally binding loan contracts with the Oak International Brazil Ltd under the jurisdiction of UK law. These contracts have a typical term of 2 or 3 years. The return on the investment is fixed in the contract and is usually between 12% and 15% depending on the level of investment, the term agreed and whether returns are paid annually or rolled over until the end of the term. European investors, who wish to invest in Euros, can do so through the Spanish company, Roble Investimentos 2020 S.L. and these contracts are written under the Spanish legislation.

Is there a minimum level of investment?

Yes. The minimum investment is £100,000 (GBP) for UK investors and €100,000 (Euros) for our European investors. The exact terms and conditions of any contract are agreed on an individualised basis with each investor.

Can investors visit the projects in Brazil?

Not only can investors visit the projects in Brazil, but this is something that Oak IF Group actively encourages. We want our investors to see what we do on the ground and also to meet the members of our legal and management teams.
